Crafting Your First Resume – Like a Pro!
Writing your first resume is no easy task: with limited work experience, it’s hard to fill even half a page. But what's even more challenging is filling that small space with content that convinces your future boss.
Although we’ve written about this topic before, we always have new insights to share. We strive to keep up with current CV trends, so here are our latest tips on what to focus on for your very first resume!
One thing is certain: if you follow these tips, both employers and our HR coordinators will take notice!
Tailor Your Resume to the Job Offer
Many make the mistake of sending the same resume for every job application, which is a huge error. It signals to the employer that you’re not really interested in the job enough to make an effort.
Stand out from the crowd! Tailor your CV to the job offer and show that you are a truly dedicated candidate!
As a beginner with limited work experience, you may not have the most relevant positions to list. Therefore, we suggest always stating in the header section what position you are applying for. This small detail shows thoughtfulness, and both your CV and employer will appreciate it!

Never a CV Without a Motto!
Moving on from the header, you might think about continuing your first resume with an introduction about yourself.
This, however, is not the best idea.
Instead, try to find a motto that explains why you want to work in the specific field. Don’t hesitate to invest time in creating a good CV: research, read books on the subject, and find your “why.”
This is true even if you are applying for a job that doesn’t yet align with your future plans. Try to find aspects that match your skills and personality, and craft a motto from that.
No HR professional will overlook a beginner who knows their motivations and isn’t shy about showing them in their resume!

Don’t Be Gloomy!
You may have heard that you should present yourself with a serious, expressionless face in your resume photo. Let’s face it: you wouldn’t want to work with someone whose first impression is a gloomy picture, right?
Don’t be afraid to show your natural smile and make a pleasant impression with your first resume! Try to choose a straightforward, modest photo taken from the front to win the HR professional's heart. Of course, don’t go overboard: no one wants to hire someone with an unnaturally wide grin.

Show Who You Are!
Once you have numerous high-level positions and are swamped with job offers, it will be enough to write about your work experience and skills in your CV.
Until then, don’t underestimate the power of your hobbies and competition results! Feel free to mention if you participated in competitions related to the field.
For example, if you placed in a team competition, it shows that you’re a good team player with excellent problem-solving skills. Examples like these can really enhance your beginner resume and demonstrate that your achievements make you an increasingly valuable asset.
